They come in a variety of colors and patterns, but are primarily bright blue with amazing red spots to contrast. They can get about 12"-16" long and they can live around 10+ years in captivity. Tokay Gecko CareTokay Geckos feed readily on a variety of insects dusted with multivitamins and calcium, and even gecko gel diets like Pangea and Repashy. Since they utilize so much arboreal space, decorating their enclosures with foliage, branches, and logs will help them feel safe and offer enrichment. The best terrarium size for an adult Tokay Gecko is a 36 x 18 x 36 enclosure. They do well with a hot spot of 84 degrees F, an ambient temperature of 75 degrees F, and a humidity level of 60-80%. The humidity can easily be achieved with proper substrate like Eco Earth, ReptiSoil, or Coco. I recommend Tropical UVB for this species.
Tokay Geckos For Sale in the Pet TradeDue to their ease of care and breeding, they are both commonly bred in Captivity and available as Wild Caught animals. Though imported animals may have a negative stigma, these are brought in legally with proper paperwork and in quantities that are allowed through governing laws. Tokay Geckos might have attitude, but through generations of breeding it is possible that they do tame out over time.
