Intro to the Day Gecko
Day Geckos are growing in popularity due to their adorable look and their characterization as the Geico mascot. They come in a variety of different colors and sizes depending on species and locality. From Giant Day Geckos, to Peacock Day Geckos, Neon Day Geckos, and Ornate Day Geckos! There are many options to pick from. They aren't usually "handle-able" because their skin can rub off if being held too rough. However, with patience and trust this gecko can make a rewarding pet.

Day Gecko Care
Day Geckos feed readily on appropriately size insects (crickets, mealworms, roaches) and gel diets like Repashy, Pangea, and similar products. These animals should be misted routinely as they do not drink from water bowls. Since they are usually perched on a branch or foliage, this allows you to have fun and heavily decorate their enclosure with fake or live plants like Pothos. They naturally enjoy tree hallows, so many keepers like to use bamboo in their enclosures. Your basking spot should be around 90 degrees F with an ambient temperature of 75 degrees F. A tropical UVB is a critical component to Day Gecko health. Partner that with a humidity level of 60-80% and your Day Gecko(s) can live a proper life.
